Pendant deux jours, que vous soyez chercheur en herbe, mordu de technologie ou tout simplement curieux, vous êtes cordialement invité à découvrir le monde passionnant des sciences et de la recherche à travers une multitude d'activités gratuites.

Vous pourrez réaliser des expériences scientifiques fascinantes, discuter avec une foule de scientifiques sur place ou écouter un exposé dans un des Science Cafés. Des animations pour les tout-petits, des stands de repas, boissons et friandises complètent le programme des activités.

Background 

Demand is growing throughout Europe to strengthen growth, innovation, competitiveness and jobs. There is a need to promote greater leadership in information and communication technology (ICT) related innovation and productivity to deliver stronger business value and benefits.

The European Union has initiated several responses to this challenge. After developing the “EU e-Skills strategy”, launching a “Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs” and organising the “e-Skills for Jobs” campaign to fill the gap between demand and supply, a new focus is put on e-leadership to foster digital talent and excellence in Europe. Recent research and studies confirmed that the shortage of e-leadership skills across Europe is significant, calling for action.

This is the week when a revolution begins to sweep through schools in England. It involves a whole new way of teaching children about computing - but I suspect many parents, and even some teachers, know very little about this important moment in education.

As children from five upwards return to school, they are going to have to start learning how to program - or to "code" to use the trendy term which seems to upset some old-school programmers. This is the result of the new national curriculum for computing that is being introduced in England this term.
