The focus movement (cf. bad multitasking)

The Focus Movement is being embraced by entrepreneurs big and small. The payoff? A more productive workplace. [...] Business owners don't have to be reminded how their lives are being taken over by email, texting, Facebook, Twitter, the Web, and other annoying electronic static. (That on top of the usual day-to-day tasks, such as laundry, kids, and … showers.) Email alone is overwhelming. Icebreaker, a consulting firm, reckons you spend about 28 percent of work time managing it. The typical CEO gets about 200 to 300 emails per day.

[...] the network of tasks that form the longest chain is now the critical chain, but there are other solutions that can assist with task chains that are not on the critical network. These are called feeder chains and the buffers that are created from their 50% confidence factor (CF) reductions are placed at the end of these chains BEFORE they rejoin the critical chain.

Agile, SAFE and TOC - 2 page article | The IT Risk Manager

[...] Skip Angel, one of the Agile Coaches I work with, attended a training course on SAFE. He gave a cracking one hour summary of the course to the coaching team at the client. Our conclusion was that we have a process that looks very similar to SAFE which gave us confidence that we are on the “right track”. Our other conclusion was that we much prefer our approach based on Theory of Constraints to implementing SAFE. These are my (not my Client’s) opinion on Safe versus Theory of Constraints. [...]
