4 Projects for Building Global Connections

By Susan Lucille Davis - We can begin a practice of making global connections by leaning in, making friends, sharing passions and collaborating.

This article is about how as educators, teachers can use the methods of leaning in, making friends, sharing passions, and collaborating as a way to strengthen student's global connections. Firstly, students need to get a global mindset, next build relationships around the globe, share passions via TED talks and other ways of expression, and finally connect with like-minded to help resolve global issues. This connects globally, because it is all about connecting globally. Strengthening connections around the world is so important in this new modern world. It's about the people you know when it comes to certain opportunities more than anything. I believe that people need to branch out of their small shells and start experiencing some of these things that global ties can provide. As a military child, I have experienced so many things that have shaped me in the way I am. In my 7th grade class in Saudi Arabia, there were 23 different nationalities just in my science class. The world we live in is not about the good-ole -boy network anymore, its about so much more than that.
