I scooped this because locally we need to recognize that students and teachers all make mistakes and that is how we learn. I think sometimes, state and local leaders forget or don't know the area they are making decisions on and that mistakes are okay and actually create a great amount of learning.

Some much research supports the idea that students need to learn social and life skills in school in addition to content. This article promotes the lessons that can be learned from students seeing others fail and work to recover, and in students learning to fail and recover themselves.

"I believe that truly embracing failure in our classrooms is an antidote to shallow learning. For example, students in difficult math classes in Helsinki, Finland, are expected to fail horribly at first, and the students and teachers don’t freak out about it. The students are given time and support to learn from their mistakes and make corrections. They understand that always getting the problem right or getting it right from the very start is not akin to living in the real world."

I found this article very interesting since it is concerning to the motivation that parents could bring to their son's in the early childhood.
