Excellent starting point in understanding the language around educational technology. This blog easily explains the different between blended, flipped, and remote learning. Also included are is the difference between synchronous and asynchronous learning. Blended combines online learning with in person instruction. Flipped focuses on learning concepts at home before in depth analysis in the classroom and remote learning if fully virtual instruction.

If in the past, classroom time is spent at lecturing to students , now in a flipped model, this time is utilized to encourage individualized learning and provide one-on-one help to students, and also to improve student-teacher interaction.

Online tools, apps and software that flips the classroom from students being the receiver of information to being the producer. Most of these tools are very flexible, creative and provide spaces to improve thinking, formation, creation, editing and distribution of content they create. Explain Everything is a program I have specifically dealt with and is almost essential in the Science classroom to facilitate higher order thinking.
