Recognizing the importance of the learners' previous experiences and knowledge is very important in the educational field. This article presents really helpful strategies for teachers in order to achieve meaningful learning experiences by activating the prior knowledge in the students' brain. New learning will become more relevant for the learner if it is connected with the knowledge already acquired. I consider that teachers can use the strategies depending on the context, though I think of the most effective ones is the KWL chart method in which the student has to do a critical exercise and write "What I know" "What I want to learn" and "What I learned"

Some of the most accurate tools for activating students prior knowledge regarding any topic. Demonstrated by scientists, the act of bringing back the previous knowledge of a student helps them to prepare their brain in order to obtain and receive the new information in a better way. In my personal opinion, the K-W-L Charts strategy seems as the best one since it is divided into three clear and specific steps for students to follow and that takes them into new knowledge.
