In reading about Google Classrooms, I have discovered some of the powerful tools the Google suite has. If you follow this example, Google Sheets will import stock market prices into the sheet, which will then automatically update a share portfolio with up to date pricing. I am basing my unit plan on students "playing" the stock market trading game where they buy and sell shares in an attempt to increase the value of their portfolio; the higher the $value, the better. Used and set up properly, Google Sheets will give students a great insight into how markets fluctuate.

Remember how Google announced plans to create a new parent company to rule them all? It’s called Alphabet, and the company just announced that today is the day the plan becomes reality. When markets close, Google shares will become Alphabet shares.
