Students and their families have experienced the COVID-19 pandemic in unique and varied ways. Many of us, including our children, have been left with a collective sense of loss. The various losses experienced may have included disrupted learning, limited social interactions with friends and loved ones, and a lack of favoured recreational activities. These feelings of loss can challenge our well-being and may even lead to thoughts of suicide for some. In this session we will present strategies to help you prepare, prevent and respond if your child or teen is experiencing significant feelings of loss or thoughts of suicide.

WHEN: March 4, 2021 @7pm

SPEAKERS:
Dr Elizabeth Paquette is a practicing psychologist. She recently retired from the OCSB after 33 years of service in the roles of psychologist, Chief Psychologist and Mental Health Lead.

Dr. Richard Bolduc has been a practicing psychologist with the Ottawa Catholic School Board for over 15 years. He has been helping children, teachers and families with assessments, consultations and counselling over the years. In his new role as the OCSB Mental Health Lead, he is currently focusing on encouraging positive mental health literacy and practices in schools throughout the board.
