Why Students Should Be Taking Notes

Why Students Should Be Taking Notes | iGeneration - 21st Century Education (Pedagogy & Digital Innovation) | Scoop.it
Students can be pretty demanding about wanting the teacher's PowerPoints, lecture notes, and other written forms of the content presented in class. And a lot of teachers are supplying those, in part trying to be responsive to students but also because many students now lack note-taking skills. If they can’t take good notes, why not help them succeed by supplying them with notes?

eHighlighter- A Great iPad App for Taking and Annotating Notes Is Now Free

eHighlighter- A Great iPad App for Taking and Annotating Notes Is Now Free | iGeneration - 21st Century Education (Pedagogy & Digital Innovation) | Scoop.it
Lindsay Sprague's curator insight, January 29, 2015 4:25 PM

You point the camera of your phone or iPad at the text you want to record and eHighlighter will automatically grab your highlighted text and save it for you to annotate.  In 7th grade ELA, students are constantly annotating.  I'd like them to practice at home, and this could be a great alternative to printing texts for them because they have the freedom to choose their own.  Win-win!

Jen Pollard's curator insight, February 14, 2015 6:24 PM

My classmate Lindsay Sprague shared this great app! You point the camera of your phone or iPad at the text you want to record and eHighlighter will automatically grab your highlighted text and save it for you to annotate.  This could be great in K-12 education as well as for students in college.
