Chronic Dev-Team is all set to release the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1, Absinthe 2.0 this friday. As discussed earlier, the plan was to launch it during the HITB which is a security conference being held in Okura Amsterdam. Prominent Jailbreak developers will be present in this event including Joshua Hill (@p0sixninja), Cyril (@pod2g) and MuscleNerd (iPhone Dev-Team). We are very certain that the new jailbreak tool Absinthe 2.0 will be released during their presentation on Absinthe and Corona which is scheduled on Friday. Musclenerd from iPhone Dev-Team will also be talking about iPhone Baseband unlocking.

Pod2g has updated the status of iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak. If you don't rely on iPhone unlock, you can update your device to iOS 5.1.1 to jailbreak your iPhone using upcoming untethered jailbreak.Absinthe jailbreak will be released shortly released. For those who don't rely on software unlock can safely upgrade their  iPhone to latest firmware, i.e iOS 5.1.1 .

If you are iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 user who relies on ultrasn0w unlock then do not upgrade to iOS 5.1.1. Wait for the release of jailbreak and then upgrade your iPhone using the custom fimrware method. Once done you can jailbreak your device.

If you are an iPad2, iPad3, iPod user then you can go ahead and upgrade your device to iOS 5.1.1 as pod2g has given a heads up to upgrade your devices so that your device is ready to jailbreak your device using the upcoming untethred jailbreak Absinthe.
