Pod2g has confirmed that his upcoming untethered jailbreak works well on iPhone4S. Earlier today pod2g made a blog post answering frequently asked questions about untethered jailbreak. He mentioned in his blog post that iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will work on all devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad 3. These devices are new and they have A5 chips which are not vulnerable to Limera1n's bootrom level exploit. Pod2g also mentioned that untethered jailbreak would be released in a couple of weeks as he's testing the jailbreak tool on all the devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad3. Pod2g also mentioned that the jailbreak release is getting delayed because the team is trying to make a user friendly interface which can be used by any one who wishes to jailbreak their device. After making the above post, pod2g made another post saying that his untethered jailbreak does not work on iPhone3G and iPhone3GS. However those iPhone3GS which are on older bootrom can still be jailbroken. This certainly made iPhone 3GS users sad as they were expecting an untethered jailbreak soon to break free their iPhones. Pod2g also mentioned that he'd be testing iPhone4S and iPad 2 next and here is an update about iPhone4S untethered jailbreak testing.

 

Pod2g untethered jailbreak iPhone3G iPhone3GS will not work on iOS 5.1.1 unthethered jailbreak.

 

Earlier today Pod2g announced that his upcoming untethered jailbreak will work on all devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad3. Just now pod2g tweeted that after testing on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS , it appears that the untethered jailbreak will not work on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. However, those iPhone 3GS which are having old bootrom can still be jailbroken with the upcoming untethered jailbreak from pod2g.

As I already said on twitter, iPod 3G and iPhone 3GS won't be compatible with the upcoming jailbreak.
Next tests on my list :
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 2

Pod2g has tested the jailbreak method on iPhone 3G and 3GS and seems like his jailbreak method does not work on these devices. Nex, Pod2g would be testing on iPhone4S and iPad2  and we really hope that his untethered jailbreak works on these devices as there are many people out there waiting for him to release an untethered jailbreak so that they can break free their devices and enjoy Cydia tweaks and themese.
