Our study suggests the evidence for banning mobile phones in schools is weak when you look at the impact on academic results, student wellbeing and cyberbullying.

They impede learning, stunt relationships, and lessen belonging. They should be banned.

We observed how and when students were using their digital devices in schools. They often weren't used, and when they were, students were sometimes just distracting themselves from learning.
