Kelly 's curator insight, January 9, 2015 10:46 AM

Nothing hidden about these "tips & tricks" - just standard every day library functions. This is not new, most these functions have been used since Win95, the days before we see the net as we do now. Nonetheless, whatever it takes for people to finally catch up and educate themselves about easier searching techniques!

Comment les enseignants intègrent-ils Internet, les téléphones portables et les réseaux sociaux à leur pratique pédagogique?

Via Marco Bertolini
Marie France Maloux's comment, September 3, 2013 1:37 PM
Marco Bertolini's comment, September 3, 2013 1:55 PM
Justement, ce qui leur faut à ces jeunes, ce n'est pas une interdiction, mais un accompagnement, un apprentissage d'Internet et de ses usages, une réflexion derrière la pratique des outils et non la disparition de ceux-ci.

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, August 14, 2017 9:59 PM
Interland is an adventure-packed online game that makes learning about digital safety and citizenship interactive and fun—just like the Internet itself. Here, kids will help their fellow Internauts combat badly behaved hackers, phishers, oversharers, and bullies by practicing the skills they need to be good digital citizens.

How to Disappear from the Internet [INFOGRAPHIC]

How to Disappear from the Internet [INFOGRAPHIC] | Strictly pedagogical | Scoop.it

The amount of information available online has gotten out of hand. Everything about our lives, from where where we went to high school and what we ate for breakfast this morning, can be found on the internet. If you think that's bad, think about children growing up today – their entire lives, from infancy through middle school, are being documented by their parents on Facebook!

Privacy just doesn't exist online anymore; it can take drastic measures to delete ourselves from the internet, but here's a step-by-step guide for those who want to do so...

What Connected Learning Truly Promotes Might Surprise You

What Connected Learning Truly Promotes Might Surprise You | Strictly pedagogical | Scoop.it

"Continuing to teach in the stretching shadow of technology while only dealing with it through glimpses and gimmick is an awkward arrogance we may be dealing with for some time to come. But while education bickers on about how to best educate children, those children are making powerful moves–sometimes intentionally, sometimes as thoughtless, drifting trends–to fully reinvent the way human beings connect."

Via Beth Dichter
Beth Dichter's curator insight, May 19, 2013 9:21 PM

When you think of technology do you think of connected learning? Do you consider how you can use the Internet? Have you considered what the word Internet means: "inter, meaning connected, and net, as in network, visualizing multiple connectors and connectees."

Many of our students have access to the Internet, and they use that access outside of school. How? They communicate, text messaging, twitter, video and more.

This post explores what may happen as more and more students connect using social media. After exploring acces the post moves on to discuss how technology impacts "peer performance" (and assessment). Technology provides tools that allows students to curate and critique performance.

The final section explores how this common experience has the potential to impact learners, in "visible and invisible ways."

Nikolaus Wood's curator insight, May 24, 2013 12:50 PM

Business in terms of infomation technology is interesting. When education comes into the picture it becomes important to make sure that the product is actually useable for the students and that it can be used in a way that will benifite not only the students but also the teachers.
