Salesforce launches 'Journey Builder' to visualize & manage all your customers, everywhere - VentureBeat

Salesforce launches 'Journey Builder' to visualize & manage all your customers, everywhere - VentureBeat | The MarTech Digest | Scoop.it

Digest...

Salesforce ExactTarget Marketing Cloud (try saying that three times fast) has launched a new visual “Journey Builder” that promises to enable marketers to understand, define, and create coherent, unified customer experiences across Web, social, email, apps, advertising, sales, and service.

That’s a big promise. And it’s available today.

Salesforce plans to deliver on this promise by providing essentially a drag-and-drop graphical user interface for customer interactions, across all your media and channels. Salesforce calls it a “canvas,” which marketers can use to map customer journeys across apps and social and email, building flows and stages through which they hope to bring prospects and existing customers.

Journey Builder is available today, but the new features won’t be available until about November/October of this year.

Pricing will start at $5,000/month for a subscription, with the dollars rising as you send more messages to customers via the system.

Marteq's insight:

Absolutely needed! I don't know how often I find myself flowcharting OUTSIDE the MAP to create what is needed. But $5K/month puts it only into the hands of the Enterprise, which is a damn shame for the SMB marketplace where it is needed the most.

Oracle Acquires Cloud Marketing Player Responsys for $1.5 Billion - All Things D | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert

Oracle Acquires Cloud Marketing Player Responsys for $1.5 Billion - All Things D | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | The MarTech Digest | Scoop.it
Marketing in the cloud is still hot.

Digest...

Marketing software in the cloud is still pretty hot. Software giant Oracle proved it today by saying it will spend $1.5 billion to acquire email marketing company Responsys for $27 a share. That leaves Constant Contact, another email marketing company, available — its shares rose by more than four percent today in the wake of this deal. And while we’re at it, it’s worth mentioning that shares of Marketo, another cloud-based marketing company, are up by more than nine percent this morning.

Oracle said it will combine Responsys with another recent acquisition, Eloqua, which it bought a year ago today for $871 million. The result will be a marketing cloud product that serves both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer ends of the spectrum.

Marketing Startup Shift Raises $6M For European Expansion | TechCrunch | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert

Marketing Startup Shift Raises $6M For European Expansion | TechCrunch | #TheMarketingAutomationAlert | The MarTech Digest | Scoop.it

Advanced/ Excerpt...

The company started out as a social ad business called GraphEffect. However, it has expanded its vision by building an “open marketing cloud” that allows marketers to join different teams and install different apps (GraphEffect’s social ad-buying tools are available as one of those apps). The company says its customers include American Express. Sony, AT&T, and Red Bull.

Borow told me that he sees “a battle of the marketing clouds” shaping up in Europe, with the opportunity for Shift to be the “open and collaborative alternative” to a company like Salesforce.com.

Marteq's insight:

Shift is applicable primarily to B2C, however, I always try to point out something new and different that may (may) play a role down the road. Note: there really should be only one marketing cloud.
