ImageCodr Makes it Easy to Give Image Attribution | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Properly citing Creative Commons licensed works can sometimes be a confusing, multi-step process. ImageCodr makes that process easier.
ImageCodr generates properly formatted Creative Commons attributions for images that you find on Flickr. Once you've found a Flickr image that you want to use just paste its URL into the ImageCodr code generator to get a properly formatted image code with Creative Commons attribution.

Another Example of How Not to Cite an Image

Another Example of How Not to Cite an Image | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
About six months ago I wrote a post in which I featured an egregious example of improperly citing an image found on the Internet. One of my Facebook friends just reminded me of this by posting another Buzzfeed-like link about New England sayings. I looked at the article and the first thing that jumped out at me is that the images and text in the "article" are all attributed to Facebook. The site hosting the article did not name the owner of the images, the author of text that is quoted, didn't link to their sources nor indicated that any of the text or images was used by permission. I took a screenshot and added my comments to it. You can see my screenshot below.

Photos for Class - Quickly Find and Cite Creative Commons Images | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Photos for Class is a new service designed to help students and teachers find and cite Creative Commons-licensed images. The site utilizes Flickr's API to find images that match your search terms. When you find an image that you want to use, click the download link just below the image. The downloaded image will have the attribution information added to it. See the screenshot below for an example.

How to Find and Credit Creative Commons Images from Flickr | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

Flickr can be a good place to find Creative Commons licensed images to use in blog posts, slides, and other multimedia presentations. The Flickr CC Attribution Helpermakes it easy to format proper attributions for the CC licensed images that you use. In the video below I demonstrate how to find images and how to use the Flickr CC Attribution Helper.
