The Canning Stock Route Project tells an intercultural and intergenerational story of Aboriginal community, collaboration and reconciliation.

We wanna tell you fellas ‘bout things been happening in the past that hasn’t been recorded, what old people had in their head. No pencil and paper. The white man history has been told and it’s today in the book. But our history is not there properly. We’ve got to tell ‘em through our paintings. – Clifford Brooks, 2007 WARNING: THIS WEBSITE CONTAINS IMAGES, NAMES AND STORIES OF ABORIGINAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY.

Q&A with Amelia Kunoth-Monks: on the devastation brought upon First Nations by government policies

Q&A with Amelia Kunoth-Monks: on the devastation brought upon First Nations by government policies | Australian Indigenous Education | Scoop.it

My hope for the future is that we have a treaty in place, where the government starts to operate within an Aboriginal constitution and Aboriginal law – not the other way around, where Aboriginal people are forced to assimilate into a process of westernisation. My other hope is to have our law and culture taught throughout primary school, high school, and in universities. We want to use all the advantages of modern technology – but from the safety of our own culture. That would be the most perfect world.

Sovereign Union - First Nations Interim National Unity Government | Asserting Australia's First Nations Sovereignty into Governance

Sovereign Union - First Nations Interim National Unity Government | Asserting Australia's First Nations Sovereignty into Governance | Australian Indigenous Education | Scoop.it

This is the official website of the Sovereign Union of First Nations and Peoples in Australia.

The Sovereign Union was first formed at a meeting on 12-14 June 1999 on Mt Kaputar, near Narrabri, NSW. A delegation was sent to Geneva to the UN Working Group of the Commission on Human Rights to take our sovereign voices to the international community.

The Sovereign Union was further formalised with a Foundation Meeting of the 'Sovereign Union – interim Unity Government' at the Kuradji Tent Embassy, near Wollongong, New South Wales on May 25 2012.

As First Nations Peoples it is now imperative that we unite and rebuild as sovereign independent nations, in order to assert our sovereign title and rights throughout Australia. This will be a major political and legal fight, but it is our future for not just us, but for our children and our grandchildren.
